1 Are you looping a sequence or song?

2 Are you using mutes in different tracks in a sequnce?

3 If you are using mutes in a song do all steps (sequences) have the same programs on the same tracks?

4 Always remain on the record page when recording main outs. Never leave it until the recording is finish. If you want to record just a 2 bar loop set up the main page of a sequence to 2 bars with loop set to off. Go to record page set up the time, record and trim up the end. The 4k isn't automatic alot is manual settings.

5 Good luck still have problems time to see an akai service center!!

do u see in the begining how he makes a pattern after he presses record and play and after he touches the pads his pattern continues without even touching it

This is Doc of Samplekings and all he is doing is sequencing with samples. He is not recording the audio from the sequence. You asked about recording the audio, right? Are you confused about he difference between midi and audio?

i deffinately am confused....what he did is exactly what i want to do...and i noticed on his screen the OUT bar on his screen raises up and down as he strikes the pads...nethier the IN or OUT raise on mine wen i strike

I meant your samples/sounds you've recorded into the 4k.

Once they've been trimmed, tweaked, and saved, you can then go to the main page and use them.

Forget the shortcuts, learn what procedures you must take so that stuff won't be so difficult to you.

And I hope you ain't the type of kat that needs someone to hold you by the hand while you try and understand what's going on. I've got a buddy that's like that, killer musician but pretty sad when it comes to concepts centered around studio/recording...even after being around this stuff just as long as I have.

Read & understand...it's all written in clear english for you, there's no excuses.

My bad I see now. Go to the main page, go to the tracks make sure that the program is assign to a Part: 1-program 1. You have to be sure to press set to assign. And when Doc was holding the pad he was using note repeat. ON the 4k the note repeat can be latched aka you don`t have to hold it. Just press a pad. Also you can go to Multi page and press midi button F3 to check that you have 16 parts set up too. On the 4k you have to assign a program to a Part always.

Like DAB says you got to read all of this is in the manual from the first page on. If you don`t want to read you can order that SampleKINGs Video too that will hold your hand step by step until you realize damn all of that was in the manual.
