Sony to stop selling floppy disks from 2011

i remember using those things in freshman year of HS around 1999.. i couldn't even fit 1 of those .rm/.ra files on one. never understood how mpc users managed to have a library of drums and sounds on them.. what are they 2mb's..

Sony invented the 3.5" disk format and that has fallen to the lastest technology of CDRs and USBs and so forth. Those saying other companies aren't doing the same might still want to stock up. Usually when the company that started something or was the most profitable ends production, other companies follow suit and move on to the newest form of technology

In 10 years there will be a similar announcement from Sony about how they will be ceasing DVD production.

I feel bad for people who use floppys. Those things are so over priced and they dont store crap. They get stuck sometimes, they break easily, data goes corrupt sometimes... Headaches.

But like somebody else said... Sony is stopping production and Im sure others will.

i bought 500 hd floppies for 40 bucks im set but dd floppies for my emax on the other hand its **** to find those
