Sorry to revive an old thread but I figured it would be better than starting a new one about the same subject.

I borrowed a friend's MPC1000, installed it in my studio and connected it to Cubase. In order to have everything sync up the way I wanted, I had to install the JJOS. I started with the free version then did the full upgrade to the 2XL, which worked great with my rig. However, recently I returned the MPC to my friend and he wants the original Akai OS because that's what he's used to (and, after all, it is his machine).

So, my question is how do I restore the original (or at least the latest version of the 'original') OS? Is it simply a case of using the USB to connect it to my computer and double clicking on the OS is it more involved than that? If there's already a resource with the answer to this I will gratefully accept a link.

TIA

Download the AkaiOS from the akaipro website.
Copy it over to your CF card.
Start your mpc whilst holding down Window.
The power on the mpc whilst holding Erase.

I dunno whether you will need to re-format ur HD to stop any incompatibilities with JJOS.. maybe not?

I've got a similar situation regarding removing jjos 3.09 from my friends mpc 2500.
I had it on mine back home and had borrowed my buddys for the last few months.
For whatever reason he doesnt want jjos and I've followed the directions at the akai site but when I power it on holding the "window" button , nothing happens. Just a blank green screen. Now he thinks I broke his mpc or something. I mean , it still loads the jjos but I cant install the akai os.
Any help would be appreciated.
I'm hoping it's something simple I'm missing but I think I followed the directions properly.

I figured it out. So simple.
