i spoke to someone at my music store and they said that i wont be able to run pt8 on the 002, so i'll be stuck with 6.1le, but it will work with logic 8 so im good... that's not a huge problem i guess, because i don't produce on the computer, just for recording & mixing.
so i'm just getting it for the preamps and control surface... dude at store said 900/1000, so i'll offer him 8 and see what he says..

i love conversating with myself, just quietly..

thanks ppl..

i offered dude AU$800, and i missed a couple calls then got a msg...
'when do you want to pick it up'
kinda wish i did the mad low ball AU$500 just for a reaction.. :x
oh well, i'll try to short change him.. he is a drug dealer so he should be used to it..
but he says it's all legit, he bought the shit and just never got into it..

poundaproblem wrote:PT8 works just fine on the 002. We have a black lion 002 in one of the studios with PT8...

^word! 8)
i was thinking that would be a MAJOR set back.. thanks for the info!

so is US$730.50 a decent price for a didi002 mixer?

he also has a korg esx-1 & a edirol pc-50 midi keyboard, so if anyone is in perth and wants a good deal, hit me up!

cheers!

erk - that site looks like it's been raped by google adwords - is there actually any information there? it looks like a lot of people have problems with the LED flashing, but I gave up trying to find the solutions amongst all the rape.

should I avoid trying to get another pair of those monitors?

poundaproblem wrote:Thats not TOO bad of a price, just make sure it works. Connect it to a FW port and make sure all the faders move.

ok thanks, i will def try for seven hundy/fifty then.. & bring my mbp w/400-800 fw cable along for the ride..

this is a huge upgrade from my alesis multimix 16fw anyways(which i bought for AU$1099 new a couple years back), so as long as i can sell another peice of gear i don't need to justify the buy too much.
but hey, i'm a squeezer when it comes to droppin my hard earned!

i don't really need the monitors, or want them for that matter.. i just want another pair of decent monitors to A/B with my vxt4's, which are awesome btw! so the standard is set fairly high. but peepin' the link now...
but if anyone from perth wants them they're yours!

that's how the site looks, but if you click on any of the blue text like :

no power or light

Alesis M1 Active MKII Don't get power / Blue light is off

etc it will actually take you to the post with the problem and potential solution.

I've had my alesis m1active 620 for about 2-3 years before one of them failed due to the faulty power supply design and failure of capacitor C8 (220uF, 35V) on the power supply board.

I persevered and foudn one with a solution - the first one I looked at the only "solution" was a reply by the person asking about the problem, and he seemed to be replying to some other anwser I couldn't see.

what a horrible site design!
