MPC & Cubase SX 2.2 sync

Has any one been abel to sync both units and have them work succesfully? I have been able to sync them up using MTC. The problem is that on Cubase the audio files are not aligned at the end point; some audio files are slightly longer. This is a problem since I track a 4 bar loop into Cubase and copy it for about 5 minutes to program mutes, add plug ins and track vocals.

Doesn't it depend on when you stop recording? If you have the tempo in cubase correct you should just be able to chop at 4 bars and loop them.

The problem is that the record function on SX should stop at the same time for each audio track due to MTC being used. The tail end of the audio tracks in SX are not parallel. I messed with the sync function in SX for about 8 hours on last Sunday. I used to use Cubase VST and the sync on that was tight.

u gotta use midi clock. mtc is a pain in the a$$ and it never works correctly

It's not that hard using MTC either. On the top of your screen (where the timeline is) you'll see 2 white arrows (i forgot what the're called so bear with me). Drag the one pointing to the left to where you want your recording to stop. Sorted.

Are you referring to the markers/locators.

i have allways had a prob with mtc. like i would sync it to cubase but it would always start like 2 bars in it. Just a big hassle. Midi clock works right every time.

yeah the locators will do what you want, midi clock or mtc will keep recording until you stop it, it won't stop automatically unless you set the locators afaik.

That did not work. I had set up the punch in and out regions with the markers and the audio files were still not ending at same point. And the thing about it is that I spent mad hours trying to correct problem.

Hmmm. Those locators work for me. I don't recall setting anything up or something like that, it worked right out the box over here.
And i've had no trouble with MTC in the last 2 years either. It seems to respond faster than midi clock on my pc.

Yesterday I was messing with Cubase and got it to sync up superbly. Damn! I was cracking my head last week and it only took me 5 minutes this time to get it all fixed. I used MTC btw at 30 frames.


FYI
You can only use Midi Clock with SX if you are using SX as the master.

**** all that!! you gotta use the punch out feature in cubase.... shit everything is lined up if you just learned how to use the punch in and out feature

**** a midi clock aswell.. use mtc with 30 fps and set the same thing on your mpc midi sync out and youre good to go!!!!

I got exactly the same problem, I did everything everybody post in this topic, but it still wont work. If I'm at home I wil retry it
