How to get my computer to accept music from mpc

I would be grateful for some advice. I tried to move a song I created from my mpc to my computer. But my computer wouldn’t read my sample. It says I have to get some software or something to achieve this . My knowledge of music and computers is very limited. I’m only starting off . Any ideas of how to get my computer to read or accept the music on mpc so I can place it on a CD.

let me guess, you just transferred a sequence file to the computer? that won't work. the MPC file format doesn't work on your computer.

You can either re-sample the entire track and save it as a single sample (as a WAV file), which you can transfer and your computer can understand

Or you can send the audio from the MPC outputs into your computer's soundcard/interface and record the audio that way.

I've had a Audiophile 2496 installed into my comp for over a year and a half now and couldn' t ever use it due to the 64 bit OS I have installed. Hopefully it'll work now that they've come out with a 64 bit driver.

I’m trying to move my song with samples over to my computer. I want to change this into mp3. I have moved it over into my computer, but the software cannot read it. I will go through what I have done.
1 I have saved my sample from my cd player; i then assigned my sample to a pad. I then created a sequence and placed my sample in the sequence. I recorded this sequence. Then I saved it in the save entire memory. I also saved the sequence into a new folder also.
2 Then I go into song mode and bring up the sequence I have saved
3 Then I go into record mode then change input from analog to main outs and hit play start and the record buttons. I save the sample again in save sample.
4 I connect my mpc to my computer with a usb. I have downloaded the software’s audacity and lame. But when I import my new music with samples I cannot hear any music in audacity. When I bring up my original sample I can hear it in audacity and can turn into mp3. But when I try and hear my sample lopped and extended and with drumbeats, i cannot hear it on audacity. On the screen of audacity there is a straight line on the main page when I bring up the sample and play it. Audacity and lame is set up fully working well, but im doing something wrong in my mpc. Can anyone tell where I’m going wrong? I have looked up the board and the internet i cannot find out what Im doing wrong .All advice is really appreciated.

all sounds right up to here.

what file are you transferring to your computer? it needs to be the new sample that you saved in step 3

that should be a .wav file, which you can just open in Audacity

don't try to open the .seq file, it's the .wav you want

I have got my sample of music into the software audacity as a wav file . There is only one problem which im trying to rectify over and again and I just cannot get to the bottom of it. I have my sample of music with drumbeats saved. It is a 20 second sample and is placed 7 times in a sequence. I have saved and performed this in my mpc. I saved my original sample and placed this sample in song mode, then I resample by changing input from analog to main out. I press record and play. But the mpc just records the sample once so when I transfer to audacity I only have the original 20 second sample. What am I doing wrong, how can i get the mpc when I resample, get it to record a 3 or 4 minute piece of music , instead of it only recording the original 20 second sample.What do i have to do when resample second time, to get it to record my whole song i recorded on the first sample.

I have recorded the sample, and then when I resample ie change the input from analog to main, I push the record and the play start button,b ut mpc only records the sample once, the time wouldn’t move beyond 6 seconds. I have 3 – 4 minute sequence of music created in my original sample. But when I try to re sample the mpc wouldn’t record beyond 20 seconds. So I cannot transfer my piece of music to audacity. I know I’m just doing one thing wrong, just wonder if anyone knows how I can rectify this problem. Ie Why when I resample change input from an along and record I cannot record my 3-4 minute song again. I have hit a brick wall, checked the forum and websites just cannot get an answer. Any advice would be really grateful.
This is what I have exactly done below
1 recorded my original sample, assigned it into a pad
2 Created a sequence and record my performance, placing my sample throughout the sequence.
3 I save my sequence
4 I go into song page, and bring up the sequence
5 I then go to record page
6 I change the input source from analog to main outs.
9 Hit plays and the mpc will record the song as an audio. I transfer it to audacity. I play the song in audacity
But the piece of music played in audacity is only the 20 second sample I originally recorded. I want to transfer my 3- 4 minute piece of music. When I resample the recording stops after twenty seconds. Is there anything I can do to change this? All advice welcome.

throw your computer out the window and spend more time in front of your mpc... in the amount of time it took you type all that, you could have figured it out... seriously.

Sounds to me like you keep transfering the original file to your comp not the new file you created. When asked to keep/save after recording your song name it "RIGHTFUKINHERE" perhaps you'll find it then

if this is exactly what you did then dizmaloner is right, you're not transferring the new file.

after you record the song as a new sample, SAVE that sample as a new file, then transfer that file

while I agree with your general point, I think it's nice that someone did actually bother to say the exact steps they tried, so we can try to identify what they're doing wrong. It's a lot better than "I TRIED TO RECORD AND IT DINT WORK?! WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?!?!" -- the only possible anwser to questions like it is "how the **** should I know what you did wrong?"

i'm just surprised that in the entire process of writing it out step by step, someone doesn't stop and think about what they're ACTUALLY DOING... if you just recorded your beat to a new WAV file, it should go without saying that you would open that new file...
