MPC-60 + MPC-3000 LE remix tee shirts...

Peace all my MPC/akai fam-

I am creative director and producer for KicDrum Products (I used to rock the MPC-60II back in 2004-07). We have a small clothing line reppin' for all the real beatmakers, beatheads, djs, emcees, and true school hip-hop "students" and would like to share it with you all. Peace and Love! ++ DRUMAT!C

thanks for the support...

in fact, we're working on them for Fall 2010. we're still an independent label, and i'm handling design, production management, advertising, sales, and packing/shipping... one man can only do so much -- in addition to working on various music production releases on CD and wax. hahah

expect to see the Large Pro -- "I don't wanna ill I just wanna chill"
and the Premo -- "phuckin robots"

Yep, sorry to say but that was exactly the first thing I thought off, I mean, it arent exactly unknown photographs of these guys. We live in a culture where anything is up for grabs and in my opinion this is no different then sampling some one and paying them royalties. It is is easy to make a buck of some one elses work, only thing he did is put on a t shirt in a photoshopped way. In that regard I think sampling is even being more creative.

do you think primo, large pro, diamond d, etc. etc........ have paid for every single second they have sampled?
do you think that all the good mixtape djs from the 90s (e.g tape kingz) have paid for every song?
where would hiphop be?
what if the skratch piklz should have to pay for every sample used in the best scratch track on this planet, klamz uv deth???
$ 1.000.000.?
the biggest classics wouldnt have been released.

Yo respect to all that love and diss us... everybody is entitled to their opinions... only true heads know what's goin on with the KDP designs... the art on our t-shirts is more than just a photoshop job... it's always a metaphor or some creative, methodical design that is representative of us -- beatmakers: we sample records, we cut records, we chop breaks. KDP is no fad.

Just sharing our line with other beatmakers, love it or not.

FYI- Jim Beats:

Pete Rock as the poster child for MPC2500's put out by Akai in 2005 was a sham to all of us experienced + knowledgeable hip-hop heads... what many younger cats don't know is that Pete Rock repped the SP-1200 for over a decade... the image we created wasn't meant to be a diss or anything towards Akai or Pete; it was just our rendition of how the advertisement should've looked. Nothing wrong in that. It's a homage piece... all of our more popular designs are celebrations of legendary musicians! That concept is nothing original, but the way we flip the artwork is definitely original. Our print techniques and design applications are very original at this point. Again, thanks for your opinions! "Roll with the flavor!"

We have a few collaboration t-shirts dropping in the summer with world famous comic book artist -- Jim Mahfood!

I like the mpc shirt, but do you guys have ones without stuff on it like the chick? I think the machine looks straight awesome being the main focus.

sorry fellas-

but the chic on the shirt is why the image is so bold and daring. a lot of people give us shit for the image because they don't read the back of the t-shirt...

we like dem girls with the "boom!" -- means we as beatmakers refer to our beat machines as our girls... we make love to 'em when we make beats... it's a metaphor! there is nothing nasty or disrespectful about the female body... even so it's a metaphysical reference. we'll have plenty more designs coming in the future that employ beat machine imagery. but why just be like everybody else and slap a beat machine on a tee... that's so cliche... and that other company that does "puss and beats" is really more of a misogynist message... we're paying respect to the beat machine itself.

you gotta also remember to rock these tees out at the clubs at night or to a hip-hop show... don't wear it to the mall or to dinner at grandma's crib. hahah

yet, dudes wear shirts with guns on them and think that's cool... -- i don't get it?

again, respect for all your opinions... posi or nega... it's all hip-hop!

well personally I dont care about the writing on the back of that shirt because I dont like the way the chick looks on the front of that shirt. That is why I asked if you also made another model of shirt with out anything like the chick on it... one that the mpc is the main focus. I guess you dont though... too bad. I'm sure plenty of people would actually like that.
