MPC1000 frustrating issues

Hi folks,
i just got this baby recently and there are some issues which makes me thing this device is not as intuitve as i thought but i hope u can prove me wrong!
ok,here i go:

1) ive recorded 7 loops and turned them into 7 different sequences,then i press the next seq function to have some fun and arrange on the spot, but sometimes certain sequences go into mute and start playing until the next cycle,has anybody experience this?

2)what is the best way to recod loops on time? do i have to know the BPM of the wav. loop so i can record it in time with the MPCs metronome and turn it into a perfect sequence?

3) i am trying to save all 7 sequences into a project by choosing "save entire memory" but when i turn off the MPC and back on again to upload the project it has only saved one sequence,what am i doing wrong?

sorry but the manual hasn´t been of much help

Recording loops usually just involves finding the bpm of the loop by recording the loop into a track and looping it until it fits. you don't HAVE to know the bpm before you start, but it will speed things up if you do.

for example, i will lay a loop down on track one at, say 92 BPM...Then set it to 2 or 4 bars depending on how long the loop is and press play. If there is any space at the end of the sequence or the sequence seems to loop to quick at the end, I adjust the tempo accordingly until it flows bar after bar, sequence after sequence...seamlessly.

As for saving all sequences you have made....Just use the save all sequences and songs feature, it is a .all file. I just save all programs and sounds along with all sequences and songs if I used multiple programs and sequences to make a track.

I dont normally take that approach when creating beats though...I usually try and narrow all sounds down to one program so the program stee is not an issue.

I dont know about the next seq function...have not played with it yet on the 1000.

the reason when you go to next sequence and the samples are mute, is beacuse your switching at a time after that specific sample(s) was cued by the MPC. the MPC, in my experience, can only play a sound when your in the program that initiates the sample, if you switch to another program after a time when the sample is supposed to initiate, then you wont hear a sound for the time of that sample length, up untill its next loop.

i dont know why its liek this, but it is, it should be fixed, so when you come into another sequence it should be able to play what supposed to be there, no matter what time, or loop, or bar, or beat
