First synth: m50 or v-synth?

Hey everyone!

I'm about to buy my first synth. I have a MPC 2500, and I love it I have tried using Reason as a sound module, but all that clicking and dragging with the mouse, makes me insane. A guy will sell my his 6 year old Roland V-synth for 900$.

- Should i buy it, or spend a little extra cash and get a new Korg M50?
- As far as I can read on the Internet, the V-synth support multitimbrel if its used as as slave, is that correct? (multitimbrel is very important)
- Is there other alternatives? (Don't like Juno-G, and the M50 seems superior to the Yamaha MO6)

the v synth is a beast, but if i'm not mistaken is not multitimbral. and you could tweak your heart out with it
the m50 is more like a workstation not much editing the sounds like the v synth and is multitimbral
it all depends on what u like
if u like tweaking go with the vsynth, if not go with the m50

last time i checked, even though you ca sample with the V-Synth, it doesnt have keygroups.

The the manual of the V-synth, says that it is 16 part multitimbral, but that must be for layering then. I need to play each sound independently over midi, you know "band in a box". So I'm going for the M50 then, unless you have some better synths in mind ?

Depends what you really want..workstation or something that's more of a synth

Imo the V-Synth will be a classic one day like the JD800 was/is

The M50 is just another same ol same ol workstation concept that has been rinced for years but has it's place.

Now the Fusion is one hell of a synth and workstation and sampler! Where do you think the sampling/synth engine came from on the MPC5000? they lifted it from the Fusion...shame it looks so nasty lol

I haven't heard of the Fusion before, but on the youtube videos I have just seen it sounds sick! But I agree on that it's damm ugly . Well I tried the V-synth at a friend today, and WOW it's truly a beast! So i bought it right away, and now I'm just waiting for the seller to send it. I join you junkie, the V-synth will be a classic

iIm saying the fusion really is a good synthesizer very versatile should have at least peeped it before you went with the vsyth. The fusions library is ridiculous on line that you can dl for free plus it has like a 60gb hard drive i think
