Yea I saw that. Does look a little weird, but they were modeling it off the mpc 4000 i guess. I was thinking about making my own that looked a little less ridiculous.

its less ridiculous than the things some people at mpc-forums are doing to their mpc's imo, at least they have well thought & executed idea

I think the extended armrest by the pads is an improvement. A darker stained wood coordinate better with the black pads.

I agree, the colour of the wood doesn't exactly match but. other than that it looks really good to me with it's big ol' arm rest.

Someone did make an armrest with the padding and everything. It's floating around here somewhere. The craftsmanship is clean as hell, but it looks too bulky for my taste. I agree tho a padded armrest would be sick...

And dark stained wood = waaaay better. Something like mahogany or cherry. That would be dope imo.

It seems to me like there is some gap in the edges, in the curvy tip of the MP

I wouldn't like not having a smooth surface.
Also wood when gets damaged it gets nasty..

If you have the resources, making this yourself would be WAAAAY cheaper and you would earn badass points too.

These kits are great. I think the image distorts how wide the palm rest is. The curve in the middle is about 1.75 to 2 inches out from the metal casing. I am using one and there is a good level of "comfort" like a palm rest on a computer keyboard.
