MPC 2500 JJ OS ver 3.09 vs Fantom X6 Help!

Hello! I'm new here and hoping someone can help me out. I've got a MPC 2500 with JJ OS ver. 3.09 that i bought from a guy in Denver. so far the MPC works great. My problem is I'm trying to midi it up with a Fantom X6 and can't for the life of me figure this out. I would like to use the MPC to control the sequencer in the Fantom but at this point I can have it all in reverse configuration also. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks! I called Roland and they walked me through the midi set up, but now I'm having another issue. When I record tracks form the Fantom to the MPC 2500, the track volume goes up and down on the Fantom and keeps fluctuating through different sound banks. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I cant help you with that as I don't own a Fantom.

I can only suggest performing a factory reset of all settings on both machines and retry.

You should differentiate between a 'track' and a 'sample', the terms are not interchangable.

When I SAMPLE from the Fantom to the MPC 2500, the OUTPUT volume goes up and down on the Fantom and keeps fluctuating through different sound banks.

you can use the fantom + mpc even withou a mixer...

just use the mpc for sequencing and the fanom in multimode for the sounds...
mpc midi out into midi of the fantom
and the midi in on the mpc to the midi out of the fantom...

then connected the mpc stereo into the fantom audio in and turn on the fantom the audio thru on (i dont remember the exact name)now if u connected headphones on the fantom u should be able to here the mpc sounds...

do your self a favor and use the mpc as a sequencer it s less complicated and a faster workflow...

okay if you wanna sequence using the fantom x sounds make sure you ve choosed the right midi out port on the mpc(abcd)


killa combo learn the deepness of the fantom it is still a topnotch workstation with hella functions and options and learn how programm sounds and resample!!...sudsonic got some usefull tutorial for the fanom and also the fantomized forums can also help you...
