Tech Q: 2500 triggers "random" sample depending on velocity

I recently picked up a used 2500, bone stock and seemingly minty. I noticed that the tap tempo button didn't work. Easy enough work around so I shelved it. The other night I decided to replace the tact switch with one from another 2500 board I had lying around. Well, the tap temp still didn't work. Back to square one and out 30 minutes.

Later that night I started layering pads and found that once I struck a pad lightly, the sample triggered as I wanted to. If I hit the pad at what would be full velocity, it would randomly trigger another pads sample instead of the ones layered.

I when back through to make sure I didn't have velocity triggering set then I cleared my layers. Same result.

I remember reading about something similar over a year ago, but cannot seem to get a solid search result in reference. If anybody has suggestions, please help.

Tap tempo: if your running jjos check to see if taptempo is disablead

Pad issue: if u have the digital inputs hooked up make sure the source input is the same
sample rate as the mp ie: 44.1

nice call on the tempo! i jumped right to fix it mode on that one. never would have crossed my mind there was a setting for that. makes sense though.

the pad skipping seems to have cleared up. I was knockin the sh%t out of the pads on the armrest of my couch and that extra cushion must have been bouncing something around. when i moved back to a solid surface, it seems to have corrected the problem. i think i need to go through and make sure anything that plugs in is seated correctly.
