I am having a problem with my samples. I can record my samples but when I go to add the drums the sample will cut out or if the drum track is already down and I go to play the sample it will pause the drum beat. This does not happen with the samples that came with the MPC. This happens with both samples I have put on using the USB or samples I have recorded from my IPOD onto the MPC via the line in. The drums are on different tracks as the sample so I can not figure out why this is happening.

Beat me to it Mr Poundaproblem.

The info in this thread might help you to understand the issue of POLYPHONY

I changed all of the samples and drums to mono and the samples continue to cut out. The drums never cause this problem but the samples will always cause issues. I put everything to mono layed the sample and on another track added my hi hats. As soon as I hit the hi hat the sample stops and when i let off the hi hat the sample starts again.

Any ideas?

how come people can't work this out?

you can set SAMPLES to mono or poly

and you can set PROGRAMS to mono or poly

each is different. learn what they do and the anwser to your problem is usually obvious

some people should just buy a **** tambourine and put the MPC away
