I can't get my samples to play on my MPC500!

Hey guys. I'm new to the MPC 500, just bought it about a week ago. I've been trying to get my samples that i've chopped up on my mac onto the MPC pads, but for some reason when I try to load the sound on the MPC, I hit "Play" and no sounds play, and when I try to put it on the pad, it says the file format is wrong.

I used Audacity (for mac) to chop the samples up, saved them as .wav files, and tried to loaded them up on the MPC and nothing happened.

Can anyone help, please?

Ensure you convert samples to 44.1k and 16 bit .wav format.

And make sure the file name is not too long. keep it short. e.g. violin.wav

agreed. also, make sure you've got your volume up or just use "Full Level" for playing back the pads.
