I overwrote Free OS with Akai OS(latest version) so my MPC is loading with Akai OS, but I can't switch back to JJOS2XL? I held the Tap Tempo + power on and Erase + power on but no such luck...

I'm generally the one on here trying to think the best of people but, are you f'n kiddin me. Did you pay for jjos2xl? If so why the hell would you install akai os in the first place? Secondly how could you possibly think, jj and akai os's would work together? Call a friend over, have him smack some sense into you then, reinstall jjos2xl and get back to work.

You can only install JJOS2XL from JJOS v3.09 or JJOS1 v5.56.
So install one of those first, THEN install JJOS2XL.

If you have an mpc1000 then install JJ OS Ver3.1, then install JJOS2XL.

p.s. you say you overwrote FREE JJOS with AKAIOS and you want to go back to JJOS2XL? I'll just assume that you overwrote JJOS2XL with free JJOS first.

Simple, for friends who own a MPC1K but haven't been introduced to JJOS yet so when they come over they can bang out on the OS they're used to, don't get it twisted I'm willing to walk a brother/sis through JJOS but when you got ideas in your head on the spot, learning a OS might be something you would wanna do later

If I could, I'd wipe the bumcrusties off my ass with your post but nahh that would mean your post is useful for something   but I will reinstall JJOS2XL since I have to, thanks

I probably didn't make myself clear enough

I assumed you could switch between JJOS2XL and Akai OS but this doesn't seem to be the case. I initially started with Akai OS then downloaded JJOS Free then went straight to JJOS2XL, ]so I could switch between JJOS2XL and JJOS Free. Since JJOS Free has no purpose being my second OS, I thought I'd replace it with Akai OS so I would have JJOS2XL & Akai OS to switch from but earlier today I switched to JJOS Free which was already on my MPC1K and overwrote it with Akai OS so I thought I'd have JJOS2XL & Akai OS but I can't switch back to JJOS2XL so my only solution it seems would be to reinstall JJOS2XL over Akai OS then I'm not sure about the 2nd OS

You can try and clown but I'm not the one trying to bounce seamlessly between two unrelated operating systems without uninstalling and reinstalling. You can't bounce between jjos2xl and akai the same way you can bounce between 2xl and os1. also toilet paper is a valuable commodity, if you have dingleberries you may want to invest in some. Tho in your case it'd probably be like trying to get peanutbutter outta shag carpet.

Yeah thanks this is what I needed to know, reinstalled JJOS Free and it gave me the option to switch to JJOS2XL. Looks like I'll be stuck with JJOS Free as my second OS, which isn't a bad thing but a second OS to **** around with would've been nice...I should've went the JJOS1>JJOS2>JJOS2XL route so I would have backwards compatibility :( no biggg
