Anybody know what kind of organ Al Green used?

Can hear it good on Love and Happiness. I need that sound lol!

Yo...there's an organ in logic titled "cheap organ". Its sounds similar. U can get eq it to ur liking it get a similar sound.

Probably a Hammond organ. Search the KVR Plug-in Database for organ VST Instruments. And don't just listen to presets. Try to alter the sounds by changing the drawbars, chorus, vibrato, leslie (rotator), etc.

No bullsh*t I knew EXACTLY what song you were talking about before I even opened the thread. That organ is MEAN!

From what I can tell, It's probably a Hammond M3 or B3 organ. That sound has more to do with a drawbar settings on the organ tho. Mess around with a good vst and I'm sure you could get close to it.

Yeah I thought it may have been the B3 lol, I wonder if I could use the one at the church lol! No Logic so I may look for an Audiosuite plug in for Pro Tools........might be hard since im using the old 6.4, the last version I can use my 001 with Gonna search for a nice multisampled B3 that I can load in the MPC in the meantime lol. That sound is amazing though aint it!

Not just the organ that comes to play to get that sound. Gotta remember it was an old time, they probably used Leslie cabinets, mics hooked up to a DI box or preamp and then into a reel to reel.
