Why do I get distortion when I sample back into the MPC1000?

I run a pair of cables out of the main output, and into the input for sampling. When I sample from the MPC1000 back into itself, there is a slight distortion to the sound. I even tried turning the master output level of the unit down, and recording at a lower recording level, and still a little distortion.

Anyone else experience this? It sucks, I want to make weird fills and such, and sample it back into the MPC1000..but without the distortion.

Should I do it digitally??

No, u hit "Mode Record" and change "Input" to "Main Out".

So will that get rid of the distortion?
