My JJ suddenly started auto-playing the samples on the load screen, and on the program screen, as I go scrolling the data wheel. It also started putting a sample on a program automatically as I go from one pad to another with the cursor on the program window OVERWRITING the **** sample that was there with the one from the first pad. I was using the 1.28 XL, upgraded to the 1.35, and nothing changes. SHIT THIS SHIT IS WEIRD AND **** UP MY INSPIRATION PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME. CAN THIS BE A VIRUS OR SOMETHING ?

Upgrading did not help, so I installed the original wakai OS, then the free JJOS, and then the JJOSXL 1.35. Seems that the problem disappered.

------------ EDIT---------------

But when I started to work again.................................

SHIT IS BACK AGAIN PLEASE HELP ! I want to smack JJ´s face with this MPC and then throw it on the wall ! WTF can be this ?!

don't think its the OS, sounds like a hardware issue :(

did you run the akai OS for a while to make sure it was problem-free? have you tried booting with the erase key? removed any additional memory and try without? do all the buttons seem ok (none stuck part way down etc)

I tested the original Akai OS and wasn´t no problem. But I did not did this for a while, just tested once. The free JJ was already auto-playing samples on the load screen, but it don´t have the program screen like the XL so couldnt test this other issue. When I putted the XL, it started the problem again, and later, suddenly became normal again. I´ll try the factory reset. I have to do this on the akai OS, no ?

Ps. The buttons are all OK, I checked this. If this is a hardware problem this is really strange since it looks more like a virus or something... but maybe this can be related with the 128mb not akai original memory that I got from MPCStuff, although I´m using it for a while with no problems at all.

Forgive me for bumping but I´m still having this weird problem please someone help. I think is not my memory cause the Akai OS runs OK so what else can I do ?

I think it could be a pad problem. You got the old or the new one? You tried to open your MPC already?

I don´t even have to hit any pad, on the load screen, as I turn the wheel to select a sample, the mpc auto-plays the samples as you navigate through them... And on the program screen I have that problem as I described before.

Actually I´m having a lot of other problems and I´m starting to have a huge disappointment with my MPC.

I had a PAD problem on the first month that I got this MPC, and I bought a pad sensor from MPCstuff.com with a 128mb memory upgrade, and I changed the pad sensors and memory myself. Now it have been 3 months since I changed the pad sensors, and the first line of pads (A1 to A4) are starting to having problems, A2 don´t works no more.

On JJ OSXL, I have a problem with the Audio Track also, when I put a 4 bars audio track, it won´t play the sample if I make a loop starting from the second bar. So I can´t edit the second bar drums while hearing an audio sample on the second bar for example. It´s **** disgusting.

All this is **** disgusting. I was at a good work flow, and I´m at a very productive time, and this is making me delay all my job, that I´m being paid for. I don´t have words to describe my frustration right now. I was feeling like I was doing the **** next shit on the planet and this shit stops me.

Please can anyone tell me how is the most powerful FULL RESET that I can do to start from scratch installing all OS again and shit ?

Sounds like a hardware issue. If it was a software issue then there'd be at least one other person on these forums having had the same problems. The audio track problem is weird. I dunno, maybe a chip is corrupt.. I don't know what to suggest :(
Check ur soldering and connections again inside the machine.
Also, be sure to not test in JJOS with a project you made in akaios. Any project made in akaios and then opened in JJOS2 and JJOS2XL will be screwy.

Yes I´m starting to think that´s a hardware issue. I´ll do 2 tests tomorrow. One is to put the 16MB original memory slot back again and the second one is to put the AKAI original OS and try to loop the second bar with a continuous audio track enabled for a sample, that I think is almost the same as an audio track in JJ, so if it´s a chip or processor issue it will bug on the akai os also. I hope is not something like a chip or a processor. I still hope that a reset can fix all of it. Maybe I should format the memory card also ?

I´m also not getting reset. I turn the MPC on pushing reset and nothing happens. Don´t meter if I´m on JJ OS or the Akai I´m not getting it.

In the Other->Pad screen where you can see the velocity and sensitivity of each pad, I just realized that the pad 04 is always at a low level like it´s being constantly hold. And if I actually hold it, it goes to the maximum level, what makes me think that the problem with the pads could not even be on the pad sensors.

Aha. Makes sense.
Looks like you found the prob. It sounded something like that... a pad being held down.
I had that problem when i stuck too many stickers under my pads (to fill the gap between pad and sensor). Don't s'pose ur using any pad-sensor gap fillers are you?
I wonder if the pad stays held when you take the pad mat off? Careful of electric shocks though.

yeah, sounds like a pad problem.
especially after what you noticed with pad 4in the velocity screen, that sounds like your main culprit.

if you have the 2500, open up your mpc and take the rubber pads off. turn the mpc back on and go to the velocity screen and see if pad4 still shows a level as if its being hit. if the rubber pads are off nothing should be touching pad 4 and there should not be any level showing.

if you still see a level showing up then the issue sounds a bit more serious. could be the sensor for that pad is really damaged and you need to replace the whole pad sensor assembly. or maybe a short? i don't know, but if this is the case it might be time to take the mpc into a professional.

good luck.
