Mpc2500 as midi controller

Hallo everibody I'm new to the mpc2500 and i would like to know if it is possible to use it like midi controller with production softwares like logic or ableton...and if yes, at what level?..like apc40?...

Yes you can.

If you use the MP as a MIDI controller... The transport controls and pads do work. Not sure about the qlinks. If you're not using the sequencer on the MP you're better off getting something else; like Maschine or MPD with modded pads.

Don't tell me you already bought the MPC 2500.

Yes...why?...don't think I bought it to use as midi controller...I was just wondering IF it is possible to use it in that way...that's it!

Oo sorry mate. Yes you can through MIDI connections. Do you have a midi interface for your computer?

No!..I don't..and I was wondering what i should buy to do that...is there a midi/usb cable or i should buy something else?...and overall...is there a site/book/magazine where i can learn some midi knoledge?

Yes, they've got one way midi to USB cable, that pretty much acts like an interface.

Hello I have the same problem. There AKAI MPC 2500, but as a midi controller, I can not connect to CUBASE 4. There is a MIDI cable. Tell me, correctly I join together MIDI OUT A my mpc and MIDI in of my sound card?
I synchronized my MPC and CUBASE, but play with pads on the VST instruments I can not. I would be grateful for a detailed explanation of how to combine and how to configure.

Create a new instrument track and choose your inst.
Record enable the instrument.
Set MIDI:XX to your midi out port on the mpc
Hit some pads.

That is correct, I joined the MPC and PC?
