MASTER EQ?

I was wondering is there is MASTER EQ on 4k?
Some way to EQ all the signal from main outs?
Like it is on 1k.
Anyway I bought 4k about one week ago and I must say this is love of my live!

EQ but no master Eq. Just use the mixer page and run all of your programs or pads out of the same stereo effect. Check the manual on serial and parallel effects routing.

To answer his question the answer would be no.

It would have been really nice to have on the 4k but unfortunately didn't show up until later MPs.
The whole purpose of the Master EQ and COMP is so you don't have to give up an effects bus or do any routing to make use of them.

You are tripping I did answer the question plus added the work around.

Eq but no master Eq means exactly that no master Eq. Still he can eq all his tracks if he wishes. One should know the ablities before buying the unit though,

Dude already said he was a 1k user so what he was getting at was does the 4k have the added master bus that gives you more available effects and quick easy routing.

Having the master bus allows a person who use the onboard effects to be able to use them and still have an additional bus for EQ and Comp to help the mix glue.
Makes a big difference for playing out live and can help a mix.

Your work around would work but you have to give up effects routing as well as well as dealing with the routing headache for all your programs you were using.
Also if he is coming from using something like JJ OSxl on his 1k with it's enhanced mixer routing then the work around becomes even more of a headache in trying to accomplish what he could do on the 1k.

Again 4k doesn`t have this which is why simply I said NO master effects. Who are you trying to convince keep it simple and hence I said read the manual before buying.



And if you notice or not he already has a 4k he is one of the new users. If he has it. It is too late to ask for a master EQ.

As an old MPC user I guess you forget that the last MPC manuals that were printable or that shipped were small and incomplete.
If you go to the Akai website they don't have a complete manual for download as well.
You have to go to the 4k user group of at yahoo to get a functional manual.
If someone doesn't know that and they are new to the 4k it makes things difficult.
This is one of the reasons the bible was so helpful to new users, but it's gotten kinda long winded and the search function here is pretty inefficient.

Oh well enough back and forth on this I guess.

Really you assume to much.

The yahoo users forum has all the addedums added into one but it has little to do with whether the 4k has master eq.

For any user all the manuals are still at the website for all to see easily. http://www.akaipro.com/mpc4000/?tt=5 Everyone has the same manuals no different. But it is important to understand what you are getting before buying and after.

The bible is for all that want to look end of story. Plus there are plenty of comparision threads on the forum so you points are moot.


For the original poster like before if you want to eq all your pads and programs run them through a stereo pair of effects as that is the best you can do on a 4k. There is no Master EQ on a 4k just EQ.
