It's like this I have a nice sample 1, and a nice sample 2 but when I hit sample 2, it overlaps sample 1 but I'm not trying to do that today, I would like sample 2 to merge/play with sample 1.

Is there a way to do this?

search your manual and this forum for "mono" and "poly"

also "mute groups"

and stop asking so many questions without doing even the tiniest bit of research

actually after reading your question again I'm tno sure that is what you want ... you don't want the samples to overlap, but you want them to "merge/play" ?

what does that mean?

What I meant was I'd like my samples to play together opposed to samples overlapping each other i.e. I have a bass sample and a guitar sample, when I hit the pad with the guitar sample, the bass sample turns off..I'd like to be able to play them together so I can construct a track like a collage if you get what I mean

Even when I'm making a sequence with only drums, my hihat sample overlaps some of my kicks and snares which gives it a rough rugged feel but as stated earlier, I'm not looking for that studdery overlap sound today

I will resort to the manual + the beatmaking ebook you recommended shortly after this post, thanks for replying to my threads

nope

you seem to be using "overlap" to mean "interrupt each other and cut each other off" which is the opposite of what it means

like I said, look up "mono" and "poly" - specifically the program's setting, not the samples' settings

You can try making 2 programs. 1 program with the guitar sample and another program with the bass sample. Then set 2 tracks with the two different programs then lay down the samples. Im a noob myself and I did it that way. Maybe theres an easier way but Im to lazy to find out haha
