Check it out folks, I recently copped a new MPC2500 on May 17th from Amazon and I called them to see where it was and come to find out they haven't even shipped it yet!!! I can't wait to get it... with that aside is there anything I should know or do when I first receive it? Any bangin drum kits or samples I should keep my eyes peeled for? Dumb question but what's is the difference between os and jjos?

not being funny but, start reading the manual and go on you-tube to get as much knowledge as possible, it will save you a ton of time! go to the akai site to get the manual if you don't have it already. i had did so much research that when i finally got my mp, i didn't know everything but, i knew the basic's and then some! how to layer drum & sounds, how to go into program mode and change poly to mono, etc. (basic's 101). hope that was of some insight to you. PEACE

there is no way i would ever use the akai OS, EVER. jjos2 and proud of it. LOL it would take to long to explain it to you but again go on you tube and go nym' page http://www.youtube.com/user/nymantics or http://www.youtube.com/user/60017120 for a more info. to this day i still watch these video's to become more familiar with the jjos system.

I've ordered an MPC 2500SE the other day. They said i'll have to wait until august. Seems there's a production shortage.

Man, this will be a long wait! :(

well it hasn't been 2 weeks since they delivered. Sometimes postage takes a while.

If they didn't mail it by 14 days since the sale... take action for sure.

I've been waiting on some decks I bought off eBay a few weeks back and the seller isn't responding to messages.

well decks are large packages... just make sure you take action by a day or two before 30 days have passed... because ended listings expire in 30 days. It often wont show up by then... so play it safe to make it easy to display the add to support.

also if he/she continues to not respond... there is a specific way to report that when you haven't gotten the item. I suggest not leaving feedback until you talked to an ebay person supposing you dont receive the item. And if you do get it, dont leave feedback at all until the seller does that way he wont blast you with false statements when you leave his neutral or negative feedback. I know sellers cant leave negative, but they can leave comments saying BS things.

Cheers, I'll bare all that in mind.

The estimated delivery window isn't quite up, so I'll hold out until then and chase up a refund from Paypal if they don't arrive.

make sure you scrutinise the manual and forget what anyone says: play around with AKAI OS for at least a solid month so that you get to grips with the machine. the manual covers akai's OS and thus it makes sense to get a really solid foundation of understanding with the HARDWARE using the os+manual.

After a bit of back and forth with the seller I finally got a package today.

It was supposed to contain 2 decks, a mixer and some vinyl, but one of the decks is missing. The deck that came has something rattling around inside it, 2 feet have snapped off and it is covered in grime! The mixer looks like it's been picked out of a skip... ???

Not sure what to do now but I definitely want my cash back.
