repair the headphonepart on 2000 classic ?

ok, recently got my hands on a mpc2k classic to use next
to my mpc60. the thing i noticed was that the headphone output
was really messed up. the only thing you can hear is digital distortion.


is it possible to repair the headphone-piece or do i need to get
the entire ad/da board ?

I had (probably) the same issue. In my case, one channel was silent. I found out that the soldering on pot had been cracked. I re-soldered it and and it works fine now.

do the other things on the board work fine? maybe it is just the little headphone amplifier that is screwed up.

if that is the case maybe it happened from someone using that output for something other then headphones that was drawing too much from it...

both left and right stereo output is working fine.
so it's just the headphone out thats broken.

Then I would re-solder the headphone jack on the AD/DA board. If you don't know how to solder, this is the good time to start! Study / research how to solder, and de-solder (I would use old dead electronics to start.)

I got an old MPC-2000 Classic (which was described as "mint" condition by seller...) on ebay. I had to replace variable fader, and the pods were bleeding. I spent a lot of time restoring the MPC... (I managed to put CF reader internally too.)

If you are buying old MPCs, most of the cases it requires some repair. I like restoring old stuff, so I did not mind much.
