Pad Problem of Mpc 2500

I just got a mpc 2500, never used a mpc before, when I switch the mode by press the mode + pad, some of the pads are extremely hard to use. you need to press them really hard. Is it because the pad is died? Thank you guys!

I have my MPC2500 for 1 month now.
I have he problem that when I play with the pads for example I want to make a drumline,when I hit the snares once it works and once I hit the pad again I hear something like a : click ! Than the same shit with the kick. So when I record it,and play it again to give it a listen it sounds crap..I mean if it would sound fine I woudnt have to deal with this Pad problem.
Does anyone of you have experienced the same problem?Can anyone helpe me?
