Man Im really having a hard time loading my seqs and songs

Im really having a hard time loading back up my sequences and songs on the mpc 4000 when i load them back up I can get the sequences to play but not with samples and thats only in the program screen but not on the main screen. NOthing to play on the main screen i see the sound jumping on the sound indiator on the left of the main screen but no Sound? Somebody help me.

Have you tried naming and saving the 'Multi' you used for the sequence? I usually create a folder with the Multi, Sequence, Samples and Programs together. When I load the Multi and the Sequence everything is there!

Well I Save everything.. I do the save entire memory thing on it in a new created folder i have. When loading up it up I just get drum loops i played on each sequence not the SAmple And thats not even on the main screen I can only play the drum seq in the program or sample screen which is weird to me. Ive made several bangers on this machine but has failed to save everything i wanted saved on it and its frustrating

Loading is usually like this. Load all sequences and next load the multi and you should be set. The multis contain all the programs and samples never leave home without your multis.


Saving is the same. Save all sequences command and then save the multi done.

THANKS! NOW ANOTHER ISSUE I HAVE IS ASSIGNING THE CHANNELS FROM THE 4000 MIXER INTO MY MACKIE EXTERNAL MIXER IT WAS MUCH EASIER FOR ME TO DO THIS ON THE 2000 INCLUDING MY SAVING AND LOADING ISSUES. BUT THE 4000 IS A BEAST I LIKE IT THOUGH.

See Blue Haze man its like this when i load up all my seqs and songs and Multi I only here the drum performance that i played during recording only on the disk menu, program menu, all other Screens exept the main seq screen i see the sound module indicator jump on the main but no Sound. And to give you a better understanding on my issue with the Channels. I have a 8 channel Mackie mixer and trying to assign all 4000 output individual channels to the 8 individual channels on the Mackie. and wonder if its the same as doing it from the 2000 If Anybody else has an answer to this let me know Thanks!

Several easy ways to do it. Coming from the 2k I recommend to use drum programs and go to programs page and hit the zones pages from here you can easily hit the pad and everything shows up. The levels, tuning, layers, panning and of course outputs if you have the 8 outputs installed. I usually work from here to assign my layered kicks to different outputs. Of course you can use the mixer pager with a drum program and use the I forget f1 or f2 to open the pad mixer page this is great for live mixing. And lastly if you are assigning a whole program bass, piano, or keygroup program I use the multi page and assign an out. The 4k is very flexible to our work style. These are mine.

Try going to the main page and assigning the program to a part. Make sure to select the program find a part on the track like part 1, 2, 3 or something and press do it to set it. Unlike previous mpc with aps system, the 4k uses a multi aka parts!! All program have to be assign to a part. Then the part is assign to a track. On a 2k you just assign a program to a track easy. But the 4k can have two programs or 20 programs layered to the same track depending on the parts you use. You got to hit the manual a bit too. 4k has alot of options. I hope it helps.

Thanks I got everything to work on that. Now another thing Im having trouble with is Midi settings. Im trying to record midi notes over my Beat Loop along with my Analog Sample Samples. I have a Roland Phatom and trying to prevent my Mpc 4000 sounds from playing back on the Keyboard and vice versus Im trying to record Midi Notes Keyboard only sounds from the Keyboard into the 4000 What do my Settings need to be? Manual does not tell me enough.

Select the correct track and set the part for midi A thru D depending on what your keyboard is connected too and set your keyboard to local off to prevent the feedback.

Always use different tracks for your instruments.

Ok Thanks i will try that , now another thing i noticed on the 4000 when you delete a Midi Track it deletes your whole seq as well unless i need to make a setting or whatever the case. I know when i delete a track on the 2000 My Seqence meaning the drum loop Sample and Sound Samples would still be there. So i know its gotta be a way to avoid that on the 4000

sounds like your not running off the correct multi. after you load your files, go to the multi window and delete the default multi (not the one you just loaded). then it SHOULD work properly.
