Pro Tools Interfaces

what interface would you recommend I get that 1. works with ProTools, 2. has midi, 3. isn't very expensive..

1. M-Audio 1010LT $180 or less at Guitar Center
2. Aquire a copy of ProTools M-Powered
3. ?
4. Profit?!

i don't know if i can use that thing i just have a macbook..

too bad you're that picki... the toys r us package has the fast track but it doesn't have midi and the interface is shit for recording (only 1 channel in also lmao.) maybe the fast track pro though I dont know if it has midi.

take a peak at the m-audio usb cards on their website or sam ash website... they will for sure be the cheapest pro tools working interfaces i would think.

i have the fast track, im using it right now, but i need midi capabilities

my take on mboxes is they are overpriced for what they offer...I think I would rather pick any maudio firewire joint over mbox.

Mboxes are cool. That's what I started with. The entire Activator album was done on one and it came out really good.

I know! I was implying he go with a Digi interface since the extra money he'd spend on M-Powered after buying an interface would go towards the Digi setup. I called him an idiot for pretty much suggesting over the internet that Drunk steal a copy of M-Powered.

Bottom line, he's not gonna find an M-Audio interface any better than any Mbox, plus buy M-Powered all for the same or less than he will spend on an Mbox. The main advantage of going with M-Audio that I see is the ability to use them with DAW's other than Pro Tools and assortment of interfaces. But larger assortment doesn't necessarily mean better.
