GPE: Base Pitch etc

Hi, i was playing around with the Pitch settings of a drum program (A,D,S,R, Depth, After, Base Pitch) and the results were fairly interesting. I was just changing values at random, but would be keen to know more to try and get better results from it.

Can anyone explain the theory behind this screen and what the parameters do? The JJOS manual is typically unclear.

it's basically doing the exact same thing that the FILTER page does, but instead of affecting the filter it affects the pitch of the sample. you can ramp the pitch up or down at a fast or slow rate with each pad hit. the BASE PITCH sets your starting point. either starting from 0 pitch (sample pitched all the way down until it is stopped) or 44.1 k (normal pitch).

i don't mess with this too much but you can do some pretty wild sounding stuff with it. you can also do a pretty accurate emulation of vinyl scratching this way.
