I'm here trying to set up my 4k as a MIDI device in Mac OS X's Audio MIDI Setup so that I can use it to transmit MMC to Audiodesk.
So, one bit of data that is needed is the System Exclusive ID. Specifically, the manual states "Make sure that the Sysex ID setting correctly matches the setting in the device itself."
As far as my limited knowledge of system exclusive messages goes, if set to 0, the MPC will respond to "any" and "all" system exclusive messages.
Now, I'm guessing that since I'm only going to be transmitting sysex while using the MMC (correct me if I'm wrong), this should not be a concern. But, just trying to be extra secure before I accidentally send some crazy combo of sysex messages to my 4k on a bad day.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.
