today i spent about 2 hours sampling through some strings, and now i feel like sh*t, i got the biggest headache, and im all naushes. i think it was from sampling the hight pitch strings.

this has neer happened before, but then again ive never samples solely one type of sounds for such a long period.

i tend to have volumes high when sampling becasue sometimes the records are quiet, but today i considered the high sounds of the strings.

anyways, has this ever happened to anyone else? im convinced it was from the sounds, not something else

i popped a few tylenols 2's from when when i broke my wrist, i'll be back at it soon

yeah man thats it lower ur volumes u actually mix better at lower levels and u save ur hearing. tinnutus will cause scratchin, discomfort and all kinds of shit like nausea so watch the levels. its the middle freq and upper freq ones that cause the most probs, like strings

how high is your volume. your not supposed to feel pain until at least 130 decibels

lol

what is wrong with yall people? Keep your volume at a normal conversation level. U think when the professionals pump up the volume in the studios so they hear better? Hell no! They gonna go deaf in 2 days. Put it low, some suggest -70db or around there. Dont use headphones either. Never monitor with headphones. U gotta take breaks too.

man, im not saying i had this shit blaring in my ear, but i was **** with high pitched sine sounds for about an hour or 2 straight in headphones..basically regular headphone volume..plus some parts were panning madlib style..i wasnt using the headphones to mix, just to lay the shit down rough..**** with a high pitched sound for an hour at any level with headphones on and its gonna mess with u

uh.......

130 decibels is somewhere around a jet airplane taking off right next to your head....you'll go deaf pretty quick. Monitoring your shit loud not only kills your ears, it's a way of faking yourself into thinking your shit is banging. It has to sound good at low volumes to be any good. Also just cause your ears don't hurt doesn't mean you aren't damaging them.

haha, whoops didn't see the "lol"

but seriously, monitoring too loud is a big rookie mistake
