drums
bass
rhythm
Melody
vocals are not important to me,as i don't even listen to them,its all about the music for me,if you have a great track with music you can always add vocals to it to make it better then it was.but not a must

beats that breathe and then have a break down. i noticed all good beats do this. they have a ride section which is just like one chord or watever then a break part which brings you back to the ride. this is a good example.

I have a kazoo midi controller I made in woodshop during my 7th grade year.

-The biggest thing I like in a beat is how a sample is flipped—the melody of it (not the drums or bass )

-I love beats that have some soulful shiit on it--all of them don't have to be sampled--I like synth too!

-So I guess, for me, it's the m-m-melody!

if i can listen to it for atleast 30 seconds, it must be good.

simplicity and sonic balance

Simple, but effective programming.

Like when you say to yourself "That's so simple, I could have done that"...well maybe.

Simple melodies, catchy hooks, interesting vocal production and arrangement, good use of FX, a great mix, songwriting skills, cross-genre collaborations, uplifting chord progressions, unique sounds & samples...
