hey there, had a mpc/midi/logic question... Can't seem to find the answer when i search...

The mpc 4000 has four midi out ports. 16 midi channels per port.

I use logic as a sound module, right now the chain is MPC into firebox audio interface into Logic.

In Logic, it only gives me the option for 16 midi channels, and there is no apparent option for choosing a different port.

Now the firebox only has one midi port (hopefully this is the issue).

I would love to be able to use more than 16 midi channels in logic (sequenced by the 4000).

Is it possible to do this with the right midi interface? In other words, with some other interface that has, say four midi ports, could you in theory sequence 4 x 16 = 64 midi channels in Logic?

Would love to hear that it's possible, thanks for the help.

Yep, I doubt if logic is any different from any other daw. And yes, a midi interface will show up in your daw as additional ports.

It all depends on how many ports you want. I once used two motu 8x8 interfaces but realised it was really overkill.

So now I stick with just one (motu mtp a/v) and it does an excellent job at what it's supposed to do.

Without it, I wouldn't be able to utilize my 4k as a slave device, sound module or controller.
