MPC 2500/1000 Bad Sound Workaround

I currently use a MPC2500 (with JJ OS) and a 4000 and concerning the long debate on 2500/1000
audio quality issues, has anyone here ever thought of just using external DA/AD boards.

For example, I can state, that the sound quality is actually alot nicer if I use my Yamaha AW2400 for
AD/DA while this unit is digitally connected with the 2500.

Also, I tried the Lexicon MX400, which is rather a low cost unit, but also has very good spec's on it's
digital/analog converters and it sounds much better than the MPCs AD/DA. You could also use a Lexicon MX200
which is said to have the same converters, but is actually alot cheaper.

Soundwise, these engines have huge impact on the sound at the end of the day. Just don't use the MPCs converters.

Any thoughts?

I am gonna try this. I used to use the VS2480 and the converters in that unit were on of its weakest points. But they didn't sound horrible either.
