Need to see if this is a good deal...

2 stanton str8-80's with numark cc1 cartridges for 200.

from what i've read, the str8-80's are decent tables. i don't have the money to dish out sl1200's even though i'd like to for the long run, but how are the str8-80's and cc1's for sampling/scratching?

in general is it a good deal?

good deal. those tables are pretty decent. dont know anything about the cartridges though

I wasn't fond of the 80's I've found that the 150's are the only suitable stanton decks. I would suggest saving your money until you can buy used 1200's, It's worthwhile.

Generally a straight tonearm isn't going to get as much of a hifi sound as a well set up s-shaped tonearm.
I started out with 1 sl1200 and added the 2nd one once I could afford it, that could work for you maybe..
Good thing with 1200s is they are just about bulletproof, and you'll never need to upgrade
