hi,I have an mpc2500 with 20gb internal hd..
I started saving data in the hd,making folders...with programs sequences and samples..
Many time when I go to reload it...It says:WRONG FILE!and it doesn't reload the program with the samples or the sequence...or something else..
I already tried to format the hd...
If I copy data from my mac to the hd via usb...no prob...but when I save the data from the mpc..
am I doing something wrong?any suggest?
thanx

welcome to the forums!

the file system on the mpc has some flaws that are really weird. akai tried to fix it several times but some errors keep showing up.

first: do you know what os your mpc is running? hit mode -> pad10

the recent official os from akai is version 1.24 - some users claim timing problems when using external midi equipment so they stay at version 1.23.

second: to avoid the most prominent errors (file not found, wrong file) never overwrite any data previously saved - always make a new folder and save there. even if you do several versions of a beat. it is alwasy easier to delete old folders that are not used anymore than to recover lost files.

have fun...

hello!

goto: http://www.akaipro.com/mpc2500/?tt=5 - there are the support documents and downloads for the mpc2500.
do not forget to download and read the manual addendums, because they contain info about added features and bugfixes.

to change your username / welcome message you have to use a hidden setting - i think it is mode-> pad10, then choose pad settings and press f6 in that screen. if this don´t work search the forums for the right way is must be this or something very similar - sorry i don´t know it exactly at the moment.
