has anyone REALLY outgrown their mpc?

I wouldn't say I outgrew my MPC, I don't do a lot of things that the MPC 1000 I currently have can't do, or I couldn't use something with my MPC being the sequencer. I will say that I just find using software easier. Don't get me wrong though, learning my first MPC in and out was the best thing I ever did for myself. It taught me some major discipline when coming to chopping up my samples. I also learned how powerful midi can be, or rather the use of a few choice pieces of gear. I don't really make many full songs these days on my mpc or hardware in general. But, I keep my MPC (Various, I often find one for cheap and sell my current one, just to change it up), ASR 10, and my s2000 rack. They all have really good strong points and I don't let the go.

On the flip side, I feel my music is better when I use Reason, which ironically is really no better than an mpc for sampling. Just ease of use/workflow/quickness. For every one thing I love about my MPC, I probably love 3 more things in Reason. That said, I have never been without an MPC for over 6 months in the last 6 years or so.

Besides my mpc I also have the s950, s3000xl, ableton live 7, Fl studio 7, Reason 4 and cubase Le. I've tryed and used them all. Some of them I like to work with, others don't. But I used them all in combination with my mpc. But a lot of times I use strictly the mpc and vinyl. As a sequencer the mpc offers everything I need. Fast chopping and sample edit features for extensive sample editing. Four midi ports. So I may outgrow my setup, but I think I'll never outgrow the mpc.

i had a 2000xl for a while but i found the whole process was too slow for me

i used to make music ages ago on a pc just with fruity loops back in the day & in 1 whole night i'd almost be able to get a whole track roughly done out

i sold mine basically cause i needed the cash over christmas and im only just getting my mac setup with logic & i've just bought myself an xstation midi controller (with built in analogue synth)... mpd is a possibility just to bang out beats ect, but i mite find that using my keys is easier... but we'll see.. i just find in a computer i get more of a creative flow & it's nice to **** around with a bit of eq and effects straight away

I used to produce all my music in the Mpc exclusively. It was tedious and time consuming. Now I drop loops into ableton and sequence there.

Not selling everything is a good thing, I was quite a GS a few years ago...buying and selling a lot of stuff only to miss most of it when it went...now I'm buying it all back and not selling one thing even if I don't use it much like my JX3P which I hardly use now due to it's annoying MIDI gaynes of always switching in OMNI mode.

And talking about Novation seeing as it was mentioned earlier my second synth was a Bass Station keyboard around 2003 which is actually a real analogue..how could I not get one again hahaha it's one of my faves, it's a cheap piece of poo considered by many but it's a nice cheap piece of poo personally I think it's better at leads although it can do some nice basses..when it sucks is when certain people compare it to synth z and synth y
