yeah i just ended up scrapping the beat and starting a new one.. im getting the memory expansion soon

EDIT:
i think ive asked a similar question already, but ive actually searched through this thread a lot AND looked through the manual and i'm still confused, so here's my question:

I have two instruments with two different effects on them. In the "FX Select/Bypass" window, on each instrument, it shows INST: _____ (and then the effect). So here, both instruments have their effects individually. But when I play a sequence, both instruments play through the same effect (whichever track I have selected).

So in more detail, I have a drum track going through the "Dist+Cho+Rev" effect, and a sample going through the "Hall Reverb" (subject to change). And so when I play the samples of each instrument by hitting the keys, it's fine. But when I play the sequence, both instruments (the drums and sample) go through "Dist+Cho+Rev". Or if Track 2 is selected, "Hall Reverb".

How can I separate them?

I looked into Edit/Amp/ "Out=Bus_" but that isn't right. It just has different parts of the effect, like Distortion Input, Chorus Input, Reverb. and then if I select the other Instrument, it has the different parts of the Hall Reverb effect.

i did it once but i cant remmebr how and what screen it was.

its all in the manual

bank effects are global, as in on everything
in order to use another effect you need to resample

there is a whole section of the very readily available asr10 manual that explains this step by step, stop being lazy

Resample.

Press sample.

switch from L/R dry... to MAIN OUTS

select sample destination (open inst or not, does not matter.)

once it is sample ready... click back on the instrument you want to play (which has the effect chained already.

press root key of sample you are resampling... once it plays sound, ASR starts recording. hold until you know you have a long enough chunk to work with.

done.

then you can re-set your effect to do the next one.

Bank effects are global

only when you are not using the output expander.... or not using the rack.

the additional "bus" channels, IE stereo pairs can be chained simultaneously with the output expander or the rack (which comes with the additional outs

Does any one here use the ARS 10 to make beats but use a MPC to sequence the beats ?. The reason im asking is i tried it but could only get it to work when i had all my sounds on the one instrument. When i loaded up a few instruments i could not work out how to select the different instruments from the MPC ?.

What a question to ask on a website called mpc-forums.com, in a thread titled Ensoniq ASR-10 help, for ASRonians!!!

I mean it's only a three letter acronym (ASR) and dude can't even get that right...ARS-10 LMAO.

this may sound like the dumbest question but i promise you it will be easy to answer

ive seen people writing on here, when talking about commands on the asr, stuff like Command/Wave/4 or Edit/Amp/6
what do the numbers mean? i know which numbers you're talking about, but ive tried pressing [____]+[____]+[#] and nothing happens. is it supposed to take me to a certain screen so i dont have to do all the clicking with the arrow keys?

ive experimented with this and i wouldnt be asking this question unless i got to the point where there is no other way to figure it out. i looked in the manual, no luck. and if it is in the manual, i know you're facepalming right now, just tell me to go **** myself
