Hi,

My MPC3000 ROM holds version 3.11.

Is it possible to update the ROM to version 3.16?

If yes:
- how?
- is this advisable?
- can i go back to 3.11 if i want?
- can I edit samples while the MPC is running a sequence?

thanks!

Most of your questions are answered here: http://www.mpc3000.com/updated_os.htm

You would have to burn the ROMS onto another set of chips, to go back to 3.11, you would need to swap chips.

There are few benefits in running 3.16, but you likely will not see much improvement.

It was once. Way back when I first made version 3.16.

Since Vailixi 3.50 obsoleted/superseded version 3.16 then generally, NO.

If you really need version 3.16 in ROM then contact me with a genuine justification as to why.

Note 3.16 was obsoleted/superseded a long time ago by Vailixi version 3.50.

Better perhaps to consider Vailixi 3.50 given the enhancements available over my obsoleted/superseded version 3.16.

Including a particular function that you ask about in one of your following questions.

Retro boot a temporary start up session via a 3.11 version floppy disk as needed.

Any operating system up to an including version 3.16 == NO.
Vailixi 3.50 == YES.
