Hi - i'd like to be able to send MIDI information from my laptop to a synthesizer, using the MPC's MIDI thru. Presently, my MIDI settings are as such: Active track receive = Channel 2 (channel that i am sending midi from my laptop with); and Soft through = OMNI-B. The track responsible for relaying MIDI info to the synthesizer is set to Channel 2B. This works perfectly, my synthesizer is playing what's expected. Yet! my Drum track, which has MIDI turned OFF starts playing pads correpsonding to the MIDI notes whenever I have selected that track in the MAIN view. I would like the drum track to NOT play when I have it selected in the Main view. How can I do this?

here are screen shots of my midi settings, my synth track, and my drum track:

Thank you for any help.

while a good idea, still no luck :( it seems that as long as MIDI is being sent, the track that is currently selected in the MAIN window receives that MIDI info, no matter what channel its MIDI is set to (even off). Maybe it's an OS2XL bug?
