Hard disk drive weird noises

Hi, I got mine 4k for about a month now.
After those 4 weeks hard disk drive starts to make some strange noises while recording and loading data.
So far everything loades and saves but I am really concern.
I would like to back up all the data on the new hard disk drive.
Can You please advise me which HD I should buy and how to backup all the data .
I feelm I have to hurry up before the disk dies.
I 've read that it may happen.

The stock IBM deskstar HD in the 4k was sh!t from the begining. If it's still functioning like it's supposed to, then you'll probably want to copy it's contents to another drive. I did the same thing when I heard the deskstar in my 4k making noises.

I went from a 60 to a 160 gig HD and the performance got a lot better too. The newer HD is much quieter and out performs the older HD tenfold.

In this day and time, almost anything will work (Seagate & Samsung are the ones that I've used before) as long as it's not a deskstar.

How Can I back up the data on the hdd ?
Can I just hook up external harddrive through the usb port at the front of MPC or I have to use the Aksys?
Can I connect the USB pendrive to the front usb port ?
Is there some kind of back up all data butto or do I have to back up each folder manualy?
What about the OS ?
How can I prepare the new hard disk drive to work with MPC 4000?

I'd say clone the drive (exact 1 for 1 copy) with Symantec GHOST!

Let me shut-up, I don't even know if that will work...

a ghosting program will work, if it is in FAT then there should be no problem with the data... but I dont think that is needed. just copying the files should be more then enough.
