are 4000 files compatible with the 2000?

I'm trying to send some files and programs from my mpc 4000 to an mpc 2000 and i was having trouble getting them to load. are the programs compatible?

HI Brian,
The MPC-4000 Program will NOT load into the MCP-2000. Probably too many new options
that are compatible. Actually from an accidental load, if you load an 4000 ALL file into a 2000XL,
all the lights will light up and you'll see some strange code on the 2000XL Display. You'll
have to reboot.

You can load MPC-2000XL programs into the MPC-4000.



What you can do is send all of your wav files (they'll need to be 44.1 khz 16 bit), and
the sequences over to the 2000XL and then you'll have to build the programs manually.


You can't send the MPC-4000 to to the MPC-1000 as an FYI. I don't think you can
send MPC-1000 to MPC-4000.

You're best bet my to get MPC-Editor (for MPC2000) and Ak.Sys (for MPC4000) on
the same screen, so you can build your programs. You'll have the Ak.Sys there for reference
if needed.
