Why records end up in the Bargin Bin Section

most labels "over printed" records in the 70s & 80s. Record labels would send out a million copies of a record & get 900,00 back. That back stock would be sold to nickel & dime stores such as Woolworths. When these stores started going Bankrupt, they sold their merchandise in bulk for little or nothing to other distributors & stores. You can find some real good stuff in Bargin Bins.

Dats me on the regular!! I pay like £20 a time for 2-3 Crates of Records dey be like 50-70 recs in a Crate, I get loads of copies of the same thing some times, but overall I got nuff by going to bargain basement, markets and real FAR stores in the country.

u will be amazed at what u find.

also people 5-10 years ago thinking that vinyl was going out the door to be replaced by CD's and then chucking all their precious gems into charity shops.

harharhar. thats the main reason why charity shops are so **** good to buy black plastic.

One of my best ways to get good stuff is through synagogue sales. At the risk of sounding antisemetic (but I doubt it), I have found that a lot of older Jewish cats were into primo music in thier younger days. Great jazz, funk, and blues finds.

And get to talking to them and they will open up the flood gates. I have found some real serious finds this way.

But hey synagogue sales are good for a lot of things.

there's a flea market out in Queensbridge, NY where i ended up getting ALOT of great records...and the price was 2 dollars for them each.

can't wait till i go there again...

record store owners may see a better return when they can move more units at a lower cost rather than waiting to sell the higher ticket items..i barter and haggle w/ my local shop owner like crazy and he hooks me up w/ good deals on large stacks of vinyl.

they end up in the dollar bins for people like incurablebeatlust and the rest of us diggers to digg them out and make the store some money.

Salvation Army Stores = GOLDMINE!!!!

The Problem I See NOW is a Typical 99 cent joint will get sampled....

Be Used on A hit And POOF its 20 bucks this is NUTS..
