Thats good to hear, do you only use the ASR to make music ?. I ask cause i use my MPC 1000 to sequence the ASR as i have found when i record a sequences on the ASR it takes for ever to shuffle or what ever thinking it does before taking me back to my sequence. Is this normal MP3 ?.

The MPC is a great machine but was limiting creativity, the ASR 10 blows my mind!

I don't feel limited by the MPC (1k with JJ OS2XL) at all

I have my MPC1000 as the master and it triggers the ASR 10, for some reason i get a echo when i recording in the ASR10 into the MPC1000 from the samples off the ASR. DO you get this ?.

Yeah the effects are off, this is a slight echo when i trigger the sample from the ASR when recording a sequence into the MPC1000. Once I have played and recorded the notes into the MPC 1000 and now the MPC is playing back the sequence the sounds goes. Also I only get the sound with the MPC 1000(the MPC is connected via the MIDI in/outs). Also MP3 when your monitoring you levels when sampling how responsive are your level cause mine suck!

Edit->INST->Scroll to MIDI Status. Set MIDI Status to 'MIDI' (that's the same as Local Off on other keyboards, but you have to set it on a per-instrument basis). That will fix the double triggering problem.

What do you mean by 'how responsive are your level'?

Thanks again MP3, So when im sampling the meters dont seem to to respond in time with the sample playing. So if im sampling a break the meters on the ASR10 dont peak in time with the sample it same delayed. What level are you sampling in at ?, i have this Ensoniq promo video(not the chessy hawaiian shirt one) on the ASR 10 and it said to have the red LED just lit for best levels when sampling.

PS: My boy ripped this video from VHS and i have never seen it online if you wanna copy hit me up.

The only thing I use the meter for is to get a good level. After that I ignore it. Thanks for the video offer, you should bput it up somewhere!

I will up the video, does anyone here ever get errors while using the ASR10 ?, i have gotten a 302 error and then it asks me to reboot. I guess you just have to save ALOT!

change midi channels on mpc

I tried this and nothing, so for example i have three instruments on the ASR10 loaded and i have set there MIDI channels on the ASR10 1,2,3 and then on the MPC1000 i have set the 3 tracks 1A,2A,3A but yet when i play the sequence on the MPC it will play all notes via the selected instrument on the ASR10 and not the three separate instruments.

ASR10 purple screen, scsi installed

i've tried 2 different zip drives and neither work

I am trying to format the disk....command>system>format scsi drive
Both drives are identical, blue joints with both zip and parallel conenctions, zip is connected to asr
No switch to change scsi channel.......the asr only tries t format on 3. all other channels it doesnt see the device

I have tried with both zip unconnected when booting OS and with connected...same results both times

any ideas????

If your zip drive is a blue Iomega and it has no switch on the back between connectors to change the SCSI ID number, stop trying to use it immediately! It is a parallel zip drive, not a SCSI zip drive, and you may very well damage the SCSI interface in your ASR-10 by trying to use it.

As fobedafied mentioned, it should have the little SCSI symnbol over the right connector, not a printer symbol.
