Can anybody recommend and good slow tempo'd soul music? Most of the vinyl I own the stuff is too fast.

I won't name specific records, because you should listen to all their stuff for yourself, they're great

Yeah, got a bunch of them! All nice Vinyl, but usually I tend to stay away from Marvin because he has been sampled so much.

now that's a different question :D

Everything that you would classify as mainstream SOUL has sampled to hell and back but try:

O'Jay's
Curtis
Marvin
Billy Paul
try some of those one-hit wonder groups from the late 60's and 70's with full LP's
Dramatics
Chi-lites
Style-listics (sp)
Temptrees

yeah... Billy Paul.

Blue Magic
The Emotions
Jerry Butler (the Ice man)
Betty LeVette
The Staple Singers
Roberta Flack
Eddie Kendricks
Gene Chandler
Al Green
Johnny Taylor

Like Mike Boogie said... most of these names have been oversampled but still sound sooooooooooo good just listening to!

Philly soul but it's have been sampled a lot!
Also Tower of Power who is considered funk but has a lot of slow soul-influenced songs!
