hello,
total noob here (in fact i am still waiting for my 1k to arrive)
but after having a look into the manuals it seems you can only transpose MIDI data offline.

at the moment i´m having my QY70 connected, but it only has 1 MIDI I/O and my plan is to replace it by the MPC for the studio and keep the QY70 as a truly portable sketch pad.

so what i´d really like to see is
- transpose
- note shifting fwd/backward in the grid
- gate time
in realtime via Q-Link or Pad shortcuts

i know the RS7000 can do this (and more) but it is too big and only has two touch sensitive pads

I mean:
- select sample -> edit -> select FX (f.e : EQ) -> make parameters and adjust it to sample with overwrite function.

It's too long to send sample to FX then resample, disable send to FX, adjust FX'ed sample to pad and etc...
Thanks.

1) Power on
2)MODE+TRIM
3)CHOP
4) Hold [SHIFT]+RIGHT or LEFT to next REGION at START POINT

Instead of double clicking RIGHT or LEFT all the time. Function will take you to next REGION's START POINT.

This problem, but (in OS XL) maybe have
PAD 13 = previous chop/region
PAD 15 = next chop/region

These pads don't seem to do anything that another pad doesn't i.e. they're spare.
This would speed up navigation so much...

Also, latching and non-latching note repeat option in OTHER
i.e. so you can use note repeat without hold the button down

You can already do that by a key combination between the note repeat button, SHIFT and the F1 keys (for the TC).
I'm not in front of my MPC and I have forgotten it since I'm not using it but I guess it's pretty easy to figure out.

finally got my mpc1k today

i imediately liked it, even with the akai os, but after installing jjos 2xl and spending half an hour with just the sequencer without any samples yet i have to say THIS THING IS INSANE!!!!
after all these years i really thought nothing could top my beloved qy70´s sequencer, even though i also like my sonar software- but boy was i wrong!!!!!

but what i´d really like to see (beside the things i mentioned in my previous post) is that the numeric key in conjunction with the pads should work on all pages: ie. it doesn´t seem to do anything on the mode -> pad 15 -> f1 (loop edit) -> f3 (view) page in drum mode and i have to use the data jog endlessly

I sent this in on the bug request, but with
mode + TRIM
CHOP
Shift + BAR > (or UP arrow) = next region
Shift + BAR < (or DOWN arrow) = previous region

THIS FEATURE IS ABOUT FX.

The mpc2500 / 1000 now have 2 insert fx, and 2 master fx.

HERE iS MY REQUEST.

It can be very usefull and interesing if the 2 master fx, can be converted (fixed or by setting in the FX mode) in 2 more insert fx ... in order to have 4 insert fx availble to use (each one with his SEND parameter per pad and all stuff).

I think it may be posible to get a more rich sound using 4 insert fx, than 2 insert and 2 master fx fixed that process everything.

create new XL_MIXING_OS and XL_MASTERING_OS where we can use million of FX and can switch this os's like OS2/OS1 and also have compatibility ftom XL to them.

Hit a pad to slice marker point.
The pad hit also assigns that CHOP to that PAD number!
This can be used in non-destructive and destructive mode.

This is a feature I have been wanting Akai and JJ to implement in an OS update. The Fantom G and I believe the MV has something very similar. And pretty much all software DAWs has this feature. But as you suggested above, I would like to see this function in both destructive and non-destructive chopping modes.

However, I would probably like use of the F keys to add slice markers.

That would be absolutely dope.

this would be the ultimate feature upgrade/addition

jimmie wrote:* Live Song Record

Start Live Song Record, hit play and then switch through your sequences and make mutes 'on the fly'. I usually do this all through the 'TRACK MUTE' screen when recording into my DAW, but it'd be nice to have it all recorded into a Song on the mpc.

* Extract a single chop from a non-destructive chopped sample

* Metronome ON/OFF switch

* In TRIM make it so that hitting PAD6 to audition your sample doesn't move the cursor from END:xxxxxxxx to START:xxxxxxxx. I find this so annoying! Now that PAD7 plays the sample in reverse you have to use PAD8 instead which is even worse.

*agree with everything above

add:

*chop to pad option in trim mode. so say you are on chop 3 you could hit edit and extract it to pad(destructively) or assign sample and chop to pad automatically(nondestructively).

*a quicker copy pad, like a short cut to get to screen with one less window.

*also option in copy pad window to auto increment chop number.

edit sample start and end point in trim mode with qlink 3(q3) and qlink4(q4) not just qlink 1 and qlink 2 because you can get more acurate with knobs than with the sliders.

ability to adjust sample start and end points in program mode with qlink knobs (q3 and q4) and the changes are reflected in trim mode (so you are actually changing start and end points, not like qlink where its just midi changes).

tc/click soft button should display quantize settings if they are not set to off. for example, you have quantize set to 1/16, the soft button should change from tc/click to 1/16th

explode tracks from song mode into wave's for each track. so when you hit record, you can have the option to record each track as a seperate take ...................

or atleast a way to specify which track to record/mute so you dont have to mute all tracks except one......like a track mute in song mode.

A MOVE function in JJOS2XL GRID EDIT MODE when you want to select and move several elements at the same time instead of COPY, PASTE, DELETE and SHIFT+DATA WHEEL. It's very time consuming.
