MPC5000 reviews, bug reports and fellow user support on the most recent standalone, hardware MPC from Akai

I am considering purchasing a MPC5000 because it has the capability to sending 8 simultaneous digital tracks out. To me it seems to make more sense than to have the MPC convert to analog and then convert back to digital. My Protools HD rid has Aurora converters that have AES Dsubs. What are the options for streaming the digital into Protools?

That's news to me.

The 5k has the "adat out" optical connection (8 channels).

Yep, the 5000 does have the 8 ADAT but presently none of my converters have ADAT. I am going into a PT HD3 system a couple of Aurora 16s. Maybe there is some sort of Digi ADAT interface that I could add to my system (?). Any thoughts.

Nevertheless, I ordered a 5000 a couple of days ago and will see how it goes. I am very new to type of music and was smitten with my mcp500 that was a recent purchase. I managed to break my 500 a couple of days ago my bending in some pins while inserting a CF card. I will have my 5000 before my 500 gets back from the shop.
