Reason 5, Ableton 8 or Maschine 1.5 ?

So I'm about to drop some loot on a new .pgm and these are my choices . I'm thinking :

Reason 5 because they added a bunch of dope features and I'm already comfy w/ 4 .

Ableton because everyone in the world says I'm missing out and I want to know why .

Maschine . . . strictly because it has the SP-1200 mode and it sounds pretty damn impressive for software .

What do you guys think ?

maschine because you cant download it for free.

if you comfortable with reason switching to ableton would be set back imo...also you can download fully functional 30 day trial version of live before you spend your hard earned money. and I dont think buying maschine cuz of sp1200 emulation is a good investment.

but if you really want to get into ableton you can pick up Live Intro for 99 download or 130 hard copy...then upgrade if you decide it's something you can benefit from...this way you'd still have cash left over to either pick up reason or maschine.

yo man... if you learn what ableton has to offer it's like two things in one: a daw and a live application.. i can hook you up with some tutorials i downloaded if you need... youtube and tutorials will have you feeling comfortable on there in about a week or two. what i like about live is how well it communicates with midi. it's built to be versatile, it doesn't have one straight forward application, it's however you use it. i'm sure reason 5 has a lot of great improvements but at the end of the day ableton is IT.

you might as well do yourself the favor and learn it as soon as possible. live 8 is near perfect, it's only going to get better, jump on the bandwagon now and you will not regret it. you'll be saying the same shtt i'm saying to you

man another thing i love about it is you can work on your own songs/albums and whenever you're ready, you can be working on your live set with the hot shtt you just got done making!!! on the same program! ! !

if you use traktor too (coming from the dj realm) ableton works great with it. you can use ableton for all it's dj effects and your plugins along side traktor. i use ableton alone though. the simplicity is what draws me to it. it's got a medium learning curve and once you get to know it you realize its VERY user intuitive. can't beat those crazy german dance software engineers.

Sorry if I just wanted some input from the boys w/o having to dig through about 50 pages of 20% talking about the product and the other 80% people hating on it or defending why it's cool .

My vote would be for Ableton Live. I've been using in for years, since version 3. It's come a long way and once you learn it, it is a very powerful tool.

I do LIVE Ustream broadcasts using Ableton. You should stop by and check it out sometime. I use Ableton like and MPC or ASR-10.

Once they tweak drum rack in Ableton and make it like an MPC, it's over!!!

It's got the best workflow of any program I have used.

I got Reason 5 after I had ableton 7 for a year and sold it because I just didnt like the flow. I thought all that wiring stuff was weird. So it seems to me like the flow should get easier if you switch to ableton. But definitely try the demo first if your not sure. You can learn a lot about the program in a month if you dedicate time to it.

Im live user, and im pro live but I think reason is worth keeping as a sound module alone

Got Mashine a couple days ago . The only pieces of gear I can say I have ever been as excited using straight out the box that I've bought were my Tech 1200's , my 1st MPC and Serato . It's pretty damn dope .

first I'd say **** a computer, that being said I say maschine first hands down, then ableton Live, they are the best combination in existence today. In other words no two apps work so wonderfully well together, but get maschine first
