Reason Vs. Logic: I was just wondering which one is better or more compatible for a mac and an mpc1000?

Logic is made by Apple, so are Macs..

Logic is a full-featured DAW, Reason is not.

Reason is cross-platform, Logic is Mac only.

Nothing is better or more compatible with an MPC1000, use what you prefer to work with and if you can't decide download the trial versions and try them out.

Reason Vs Logic is really a waste of time, Reason 5 is out soon and Logic 9 is quite recent to the market.

I use Logic, mpc 1000 and a mac

Many more options and quality with logic.And logic is a great multitracker,fx unit.

we like educated consumers 'round here.

I'm going with Reason and Logic. Like they said before Logic is a DAW and Reason is not, but in Reason you can make complete beat. What you can't do is record instruments or vocals into it (I'm not sure, but that may change in 5 version). Reason is stable and as simple as it can be. It's a matter of time, but you will have to pick a DAW imo anyway. So get Logic and Rewire it with Reason. Watch some you tube videos and here you go.

U can use reason as a soundmodule and track out in Logic.

what is it again that makes reason not a daw? because... it is a digital audio workstation... you just cant record into it or use 3rd party pluggins....

yeah, i was already leaning more toward logic, but i just wanted 2 hear some opinions and suggestions, so thanx anyway folks.

Reason and Record together is a hard act to beatm though - regardless.

Logic has the better virtuals and plugs straight out of the box, although Cubase has the better linear workflow.

Try them all via the downloadable demo and see which one suits best.

No, but you can 'rewire' them - a good workaround.

Maybe record v logic

Whats up with the sampler in Logic??? It's horrible! I tried it a few times and can't seem to understand how it works. I gave up on it months ago!

technically you can use logic as sound mod and track out in logic as well......no?

could you bus over the Logic "software instrument" tracks to new and dedicated audio tracks, just as you do while in rewire......? Sort of rewire Logic to itself........?
