How to make things still sound BIG when using compression?

Sorry, I own the mighty H8K hardware unit ( I got it real cheap from a studio buddy who closed down his prof studio and sold up everything ( I missed out on his MPC 4000, though ... damn !! ). - it has good digital limiters that are quite frankly stunning ! yet, despite this, I use Ozone more often than not nowadays on just about everything.

Really? I'm gonna have to cop that, any demo or trial of that program?

Yes, you can get Ozone by going to their website ... it will be some of the best money you'll ever spend on a one-plug solution ( although there never truly is such a thing, but it comes close with the amount you can do with it ). The Eventide is being looked at by another gear haed I know - he wants it and has offered twice what I paid for it ( he thinks he's getting a bargain { which he is } ).

But you say there is a demo?

There was with version 3 back before I bought it ... I do not know what the situation is with 4 ? I just got an update and discount to buy 4, which I did automatically.

Just had a quick perusal of the site and it appears that the demo option is not available ? Odd ??

Drop them an email Monday am and ask if demo of 4 is still possible ?

I think a gamble payout on this will result in something you are very glad that you then own ( if you are dead serious about your mastering ).

+1 Ozone has the best multi-band compressor I've seen, plus its an unreal mastering suite. The loudness maximizer is unreal.

dont master compress or limit the whole track... are you crazy?? lol

use a compressor here and there on different things in different ways. i personally dont compress my low end. but i compress percussion/snares the most.

Usually most of my sounds cause clipping, so I just use a master track compress/limit.
