I must admit, that there's a cheaper way to get one pretty solid in your beloved 3000. For me the CF card reader from scsiforsamplers.com as wayy to expensive for such a simple device, so I've looked around and bought one from http://www.theslot.spirythm.com/ . I had a nice opportunity to get fresh new unpacked one from my friend, that won one in beat making contest for around 60$. Don't see at "for akai mpc 2000xl". I've took the risk, and it's working fine with my sweetie - mpc 3000. Nothing modded, everything what you need is already in the box, so the choice belongs to you.


That "Slot" thing is just another IDE card reader and does not work on the MPC3000. You are certainly entitled to your opinion on our prices but don't tell people to go and buy "The Slot" when it won't work on their MPC3000. Those only work with the XL because they are IDE and require the sampler have an internal IDE bus. Only the MPC2000XL can use a drive like that.
