Hi, where to get spares/repairs for MPC 4000 in the U.K?

Hi (again!),

Got hold of a 4000 from Cash Converters which has a 60 day warranty; however the pads are not working - the global>shift + global test confirmed this. As I have the warranty I figured I may as well let them handle this; so, as the header asks can anyone please point me in the right direction for UK repairs so that I can pass on the info to the store?

What are you saying, that you think Cash Convertors will pay for the repair?

As far as I know if you buy anything from Cash Convertors they give you a 60 day warranty, but if you buy damaged goods they are 'sold as seen'.

So how much did you pay for this 4000?

The repairs have already been agreed between Cash Converters and myself. The 4000 was advertised/sold as "working". When I tested it the pads did not work - they have accepted liability. Turns out there is a ribbon cable that has a a rip in it so it should be an easy job to complete...thanx for your concern anyhow.

I wouldn't touch cimple solutions with a barge pole,they're over priced and rip off merchants,not to mention total idiots,They tried to charge me almost £45 for a hard drive power cable for my 4K!!!! which took the idiot on the phone about 4 explanations as to what it was I required before he was on the same Level,how many different hard drive Power cables does the MPC4K actually have???????????????????????

in the end I got one off Ebay for less than a third of the price they quoted with Postage and it came from Germany.

MPC Stuff is where I source my parts from nowadays,Its a far safer bet than cimple "idiot" solutions and I think they play on the fact that they are really the only channel for Akai MPC spares in the UK,funny how Numark don't endorse them as a service/Spares provider or at least only acknowledge them when i tried at Numark to enquire about spare parts but was told to deal with them at your own peril/risk!!!
